All govt spending will be audited once Parliament reconvenes, says Dewan Rakyat Speaker

The Emergency Ordinance states that Parliament meetings, including hearings by the committees, will not go on as they are suspended during the Emergency period.
I have referred the matter to Parliament s legal advisers.
This does not mean that the check-and-balance process is not happening in Parliament although its meetings and that its committees have been suspended.
On the contrary, all expenditure will be audited once the Emergency ends, he told

All 16 known jailed conscientious objectors were freed under amnesty on 8 May. The 16 – all Jehovah s Witnesses – were serving terms of one to four years. However, no Muslims jailed for exercising freedom of religion or belief are known to have been amnestied. Nor has the regime given any indication that it will heed repeated UN calls to introduce a civilian alternative to compulsory military service, though Jehovah s Witnesses say no new criminal cases against conscientious objectors have been handed to prosecutors. Forum 18 was unable to reach any officials.
In a surprise move, the regime freed from prison on 8 May all 16 of Turkmenistan s known jailed conscientious objectors in a prisoner amnesty. The 16 – all of them Jehovah s Witnesses – were serving jail terms of between one and four years. They are among the very few prisoners of conscience - including political prisoners - ever to be freed in the regular prisoner amnes ....

Searches were held at seven places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as a part of NIA s investigation.

Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency on late Wednesday evening conducted simultaneous searches at the houses of advocates, civil liberties activists and writers in seven different places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, sources said.
Searches were conducted by NIA sleuths, who were accompanied by Andhra Pradesh police, at Telangana civil liberties committee vice-president and high-court advocate V Raghunath’ residence in Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad.
“The searches have been going on since 6 pm. The NIA authorities seized the laptop and the computer of Raghunath and inspected them,” confirmed the committee’s president G Laxman. He also condemned the ‘illegal raids’ by the NIA on the advocates and other rights activists ....
