Bournemouth and Poole to have homeless donation terminals

Hope and More, Seabourne Road Alistair added: “We are also looking to bring in countertop terminals which will allow people to donate at cafes restaurants and shops, and there is one hotel in Bournemouth that is looking to try it out.” Where will the money go? Alistair said: “The money will go into a central pot which is Change for Good. It will be independently managed by Dorset Community Foundation so none of the parties involved will be able to influence it. “We are trying to put more funds into that pit so that 100 per cent of people donations can go to the homeless and not on administration costs.

New CCTV cameras for Christchurch Road and Southbourne Grove

EIGHT new top-of-the-range CCTV cameras will be installed in Bournemouth in a bid to stop criminal behaviour. The cameras, which have pan, tilt and zoom technology, will be in position in Boscombe, Pokesdown and Southbourne Grove by April. BCP Council has received funding for the cameras from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Dorset following a successful bid to the Home Office s Safer Street Fund. Five of the cameras will be positioned in Christchurch Road at its junctions with Drummond Road, Palmerston Road, Warwick Road, Seabourne Road and Parkwood Road. Three will be in Southbourne Grove at the junctions of Wentworth Avenue, Chestnut Avenue and Grand Avenue.
