The New York Irish Centre (NYIC) inaugural Woman of the Year Award has been scooped by Buncrana émigré, Jane McCarter O Dowd.
Jane, who previously worked at the Playhouse in Derry, was also the Centre s first Arts and Cultural Director, a position she held for eight years before leaving in 2019 to join The Ireland Funds team.
The Buncrana woman attributed her NYIC success to her formative drama experiences at Scoil Íosagain and Scoil Mhuire in Buncrana, under the tutelage of Sinead McLaughlin and Patricia Tinney Doherty. ....
