Clare Chief Superintendent Examining Possibility Of Increased Garda Presence In Ennis

Clare’s Chief Superintendent says he is examining the possibility of having more Gardaí on the streets of Ennis in an attempt to combat anti-social behaviour in the town.
Concerns have been expressed in the last number of weeks about residents near Hermitage and the Considine Terrace areas being intimidated by groups and individuals in the area.
Local representatives in the Ennis Municipal District have been calling for increased communication with An Garda Siochana on the matter, and did so again at yesterday’s quarterly meeting of the Clare Joint Policing Committee.

The sale or supply of drugs and domestic offences have both increased in Clare since this time last year.
Members of this county’s joint policing committee have been told that almost all other areas of crime here have either reduced or remained static since the beginning of the pandemic.
