Is Bricket Wood being over-developed? - Credit: Google Streetview Fears over the infilling of a wildlife haven in Bricket Wood are merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the over-development of the village, it has been warned. Plans for six three-bedroom homes have recently been submitted for 2,260 sq m of land to the rear of Oakwood Road and Hornbeams by Edit Residential Ltd of St Albans, currently a well-populated wildlife site. But this scheme is just one of many said to be blighting the semi-rural nature of the village, including new developments adjoining Bucknalls Drive and Hanstead Park. ....

By Nathan Louis Last updated: There were very long delays on the M25 and in the Watford area this morning following a crash. - The collision happened on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junction 19 for Watford and junction 18 for Rickmansworth before 7am. - There were tailbacks of nearly nine miles after lane closures were put in place, with Highways England reporting delays of more than 50 minutes at one stage. - Queues on the M25 went back to junction 22 for London Colney, with the entry slip road at junction 19 (Watford) also very slow. - The Rickmansworth, Croxley Green, Kings Langley, Bricket Wood, and Radlett areas were also affected by the problems on the M25. ....
