A 27-year-old criminal and his accomplice have been arrested from Jaipur for their alleged involvement in several murder and attempt to murder cases, the police said on Tuesday.
DCP (Special Cell) Manishi Chandra said the accused have been identified as Priyawart, a criminal, and Rohit (23), both from Katewada. A reward of ₹2 lakh was announced on the arrest of Priyawrat.
Priyawrat is a close associate of gangster Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi, who is suspected to have left India.
The two accused were involved in the murder of a Civil Defence Volunteer on March 7. The victim was abducted while on duty and shot dead with over 25 bullets pumped in his body. They were also involved in the murder of a Chhawla financier on February 21 and double murder of their rival, and a passers-by in December last year in Narela. ....

New Delhi [India], March 4 (ANI): A man accidentally shot himself in the knee and then cooked up a story of being shot allegedly by two bike-borne men in Delhi on Wednesday.
The man, identified as Sujeet Kumar, aged 30 years, and a resident of Indira Enclave, lives with his wife and a 10-year-old son and works as a driver in Saket.
A PCR call was received on March 3 at 10.50 am at Police Station Neb Sarai regarding a firing incident at the Indira enclave. The accused complained that when he was smoking a cigarette at the corner of a park near his house when two boys came on a bike and on a petty issue followed by an argument shot him in his left knee and flee from the scene, said Atul Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi. ....

Two persons, including a Civil Defence Volunteer (CDV), have been arrested for allegedly stealing valuables from a car, the police said on Monday.
DCP (South) Atul Thakur said the accused have been identified as CDV Rajesh Kumar and his accomplice, Yogender Sharma (37). On January 8, a patrolling team found two men stealing from a car. A knife, a toy revolver and stamp of Deputy Director DSSB was recovered from their possession. Rajesh said he used to commit crimes as he was an alcohol addict.
