Georgia AG assigns new prosecutor in case against 6 APD officers for college students arrest

ATLANTA - Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr has appointed a special prosecutor in the case against six Atlanta police officers arrested for pulling two college students from a car after curfew during protests last summer.
Cherokee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Samir Patel will handle the prosecution of Roland Claud, Mark Gardner, Lonnie Hood, Armon Jones, Willie Sauls and Ivory Streeter. Five of the officers are charged with aggravated assault, in addition to other charges.
Roland Claud, Marck Gardner, Lonnie Hood Jr., Armon Jones, Willie Sauls, and Ivory Streeter were charged by the Fulton County District attorney on June 2, 2020.
