14 directors fail as 11 others jostle for five permanent secretary seats

Fourteen of the 25 directors on Salary Grade Level 17 in the Federal Civil Service who on Thursday sat for the Information Communication Technology proficiency test as part of the process of appointing them as permanent secretaries failed the examination,
Saturday PUNCH reports.
With the development, only 11 candidates will take part in the final stage which is oral interview.
At the end of the oral interview scheduled for Monday, five of them will emerge permanent secretaries.
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation announced the result of the test in a document dated June 3, 2021, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent on Friday. ....

State House Deputy Director, Information, Attah Stephen, has been lavished with praise and commendation after attaining the 60-year statutory age of retirement from the Federal Civil Service.
Mr Attah, a Knight of John Wesley (KJW) in the Methodist Church Nigeria, will disengage from the Civil Service on Monday, March 1, 2021.
In a momentous career that spanned 25 years in the Presidential Villa, he served nine Chief Press Secretaries, Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants and Special Advisers on Media and Publicity to six Heads of State and Presidents.
In a well-attended send-off ceremony organised on his behalf by the State House management at the weekend, the Permanent Secretary, Tijjani Umar, praised Attah as ”an unassuming and noiseless performer, who is very efficient in everything he does.” ....
