POWHATAN, Va. (WWBT) - The Powhatan County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing 14-year-old boy who was last seen four days ago.
Officials say 14-year-old Lucas Johnson went missing from the 3000 block of Fighting Creek Drive on May 12, leaving his residence on foot.
Johnson is described a white male, six-feet-one-inch tall, and approximately 210 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. ....

POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. A Powhatan man was killed Thursday morning in a Christmas Eve crash.
Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 2000 block of Red Lane Road at about 7:12 a.m.
A 1994 GMC Jimmy was traveling south on Red Lane Road. The driver, Kevin Mitchell, 59, of Powhatan Virginia, drove off the right side of the road and struck a tree, a Virginia State Police spokesperson wrote in an email. Mitchell, who was not wearing a seatbelt, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Mitchell was alone in the vehicle. ....

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson changed Christmas 2020 for several Birmingham families by paying off their layaway orders.
Benson helped families in Birmingham at the Walmart on Parkway E near Red Lane Road, and at two Walmart stores in Louisiana — on Tchoupitoulas Street in New Orleans and on Mall Drive in Alexandria.
Cedric Towns, the manager of the Roebuck Walmart said, “We’re just so thankful that Mrs. Benson did such a wonderful, wonderful act of kindness. So many people in our area have been affected by the pandemic, and this goes a long way in helping them out.” ....
