Craig Richards claimed the British title with a ninth round stoppage over Shakan Pitters. Shakan Pitters was dethroned of his British Light Heavyweight title in his first defence, as Craig ‘Spider’ Richards scored a stunning ninth round stoppage to become the new champion. Richards was keen to work off his own jab and negate one of Pitters’ strongest weapons, and the Londoner began well, forcing Pitters to ponder and be cautious in his approach, but the champion landed a nice short left hand right at the end of the first frame. Pitters started to find his range in the second, landing with several jabs, but it was still cagey stuff. Richards put his punches together a lot better in round three, driving Pitters back to the ropes, and the fourth saw Richards make the breakthrough, dropping Pitters heavily. ....
