Colfax-Mingo 5 Kody Huisman of Pella highlighted the throwing ring, breaking the school discus record held previously by Tyson Wassenaar of 178′ 7.25″ (2016), and did so in impressive fashion, breaking the previous mark once and his own record twice, landing on 186′ 8″ in his final toss of the night. Huisman is two inches shy of Nick DeJong’s 2019 Shot Put record of 60-5, and currently has the furthest throws in Iowa in both competitions heading into the district meet, regardless of classification. Tuesday, April 27, 2021 For those that did not know Mountain Home has a youth Rugby program that started back in 2012 with a Boys Team named the Mongrels and in 2018 a girls team named the Valkyries. The program locally is made up of just the two teams currently categorized as U19 which is the 14-18 year age group. Coaches Hugh Stephens has been with the program since 2015 and Coach Pat Stevens since 2018 when the girls started. The teams are travel teams that not only play locally but get the opportunity to travel to other fields to compete. The teams are competitive in spirit and in 2019 the boys teams took 3rd in State in their division losing in playoffs rounds to Burley. ....
