Andhra Odisha Border (AOB) Special Zonal Committee (SZC) member Muttannagari Jalandhar Reddy alias Maranna alias Karuna, who surrendered before Director General of Police (DGP) D. Gautam Sawang on Tuesday, said there were no recruitments in the CPI (Maoist) for the last few years.
The Maoist leader, who had served in various capacities in the banned outfit for more than two decades, said the strength of the party had been dwindling by the day. ....

Raipur, April 7 : Three days after the deadly attack on security forces in Chhattisgarh s Bijapur district, the Maoists in a communique has declared that the missing CRPF commando is in their safe custody and they are ready to release him only after an interlocutor will be appointed to talk to them.

Chhattisgarh: Maoists release photo of abducted CoBRA commando | Raipur News

The picture was released by Maoists and sent to few local reporters in Bijapur.
Manhas had gone missing on April 3 soon after the skirmish took place with security personnel in Tekulguda village at the Bijapur-Sukma border.
At least 22 jawans of CoBRA, district reserve guards and special task force were killed and several injured in one of the bloodiest attacks by the Maoists.
Although the press statement was issued on Tuesday evening, Bastar range IG P Sundarraj said police were verifying the authenticity of it and they were also trying to trace the location of the missing jawan .
Meanwhile, the jail bandi rihayi samiti members, including tribal activist Soni Sori and Sujeet Sharma, have appealed to Maoists to release the jawan at the earliest as his family was going through a difficult time. ....
