BTS Snags Best Music Documentary at the 2021 MTV Awards
BTS s documentary film, Break the Silence: The Movie, was awarded the Best Music Documentary at the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards, under the unscripted category. The awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles, United States, on May 17 (local time). Break the Silence: The Movie chronicles the journey of BTS s world tour for LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF, which was held in ten cities all around the world, including the Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom. In addition, the documentary film showcases the behind-the-scenes and honest feelings and stories of each BTS member.
Sydney Fowler began her speech with a story relating to Hope World, where she shared that in July 2020, she painted the art cover of J-Hope s mixtape, Hope World, on her assigned parking space at school, which is given to seniors. At that time, she was filled with hope, but as soon as the pandemic hit and schools had to transition online, she lost hope. She adds that she was unable to spend Thanksgiving with her family and enjoy her last year in high school and that her trip to South Korea for her 18th birthday was also canceled.
However, her hope did not completely disappear, and it was because of J-Hope s speech for Dear Class of 2020, a virtual graduation ceremony held by Youtube back in June 2020.
