Claims of increased superyacht sales and a growing enthusiasm for yachting has led to what some are calling a ‘boom’. Curious about the true current state of the Asian yachting market, Kayla Dowling of
SuperYacht Times spoke to yachting professionals across the vast region to unpack the current sentiment.

Asia's First Beneteau Cup Takes Place This Weekend In Hong Kong

Simpson Marine and its 35-year-long yacht building partner, the French Beneteau Group, launch Asia’s first Beneteau Cup this weekend in Hong Kong. Hosted by the Aberdeen Boat Club (ABC), the flagship two-day regatta for Beneteau owners features a programme with two races, including the Island Race on day one and Pursuit Race on day two. Richard Allen, Simpson Marine Group’s general manager, says, “There are Beneteau Cups taking place all over the world but we have never had a dedicated Beneteau owners’ event in Hong Kong and that had to change! We would like to invite all Beneteau owners with their crew, friends and family to the Beneteau Cup Hong Kong 2021.” ....

After a month of setup and tuning, the first Figaro Beneteau 3 (FB3) in Australia, sold by our dealer in the country, Flagstaff Marine, successfully launched to water with her happy owner onboard. She is named Intiy , and the owner s comments on the first sail were light, fast and responsive. Last week, Intiy was spotted at Sail Port Stephens 2021 for her Australian racing debut.
This FB3 has a tight schedule ahead. After the debut, the happy owner has signed her up for the legendary Beneteau Pittwater Regatta 2021, where he meets other Beneteau owners from different parts of Australia for a day of social racing and post-celebration. After the friendly competition, the FB3 will be publicly displayed at Pittwater and undergo sea trials with journalists onboard. ....

Simpson Marine has sold a new Sanlorenzo SL78, with a
list price of 4.2 million, and a
pre-owned 2018 Sanlorenzo SL118, the former flagship of the SL
range, to two undisclosed customers in Indonesia.
Both luxury yachts are scheduled to arrive in
Indonesia in March 2021.
“I’m excited to start 2021 with the arrival of
these two iconic yachts into Indonesia,” said Paul Whelan, Simpson

The new 34.16-metre Sanlorenzo yacht SX112 superyacht has been sold by Simpson Marine in Asia. As the second unit in the range, she is expected to be delivered to her owners in summer 2021.
