Weymouth Magistrates Court A MAN was unaware that sweets he consumed to ‘relax’ contained cannabis, a court heard. Brendon Lee Goodwin, aged 25, was visited by police officers at his then-Dorchester property to arrest him on suspicion of assault before 5pm on November 17, 2020. Prosecuting, Richard Oakley, told Weymouth Magistrates’ Court that the sweets were found during a search of Goodwin. He said: “He was searched and officers found a sealed pocket of what appeared to be sweets but then were discovered to be drugs. “They were seized and he was arrested. “He was released under investigation and the sweets were found to contain 26.45g of Tetrahydrocannabinol, which is a cannabinoid and unlawful to possess.”
