Sindh mulls response to Covid-19 situation in meeting

KARACHI:
A lockdown will be imposed in the province of Sindh from tomorrow (July 31) till August 8 as provincial authorities try to mitigate the spread of the deadly Delta variant of coronavirus.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Sindh government s Covid-19 task force in Karachi to mull further restrictions in the port city as the highly transmissible Delta variant of the virus fuels the spread of the pandemic.
All markets will remain closed during the lockdown, however, pharmacies are allowed to remain open and function. Grocery stores, meat and vegetable shops, banks and fuel pumps will also remain open. However, essential shops will close at 6pm. ....

The Sindh Rangers in a joint operation with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Orangi Town have arrested a suspect involved in hacking bank accounts, and credit and debit cards.
According to a statement issued by the Rangers on Sunday, the paramilitary force’s technical team and FIA cybercrime wing arrested the suspect, Muhammad Asif Mughal, and also seized his computer.
During the initial course of interrogation, the arrested man reportedly revealed that he was an IT expert and had expertise in hacking bank accounts and credit cards.
He told the interrogators that he had been buying bank accounts data of people from various call centres for Rs2,000 to Rs5,000 and used to call customers from his own call centre to tell them their account had been hacked. ....

According to a statement issued by the Rangers on Sunday, the paramilitary force’s technical team and FIA cybercrime wing arrested the suspect, Muhammad Asif Mughal, and also seized his computer.
During the initial course of interrogation, the arrested man reportedly revealed that he was an IT expert and had expertise in hacking bank accounts and credit cards.
He told the interrogators that he had been buying bank accounts data of people from various call centres for Rs2,000 to Rs5,000 and used to call customers from his own call centre to tell them their account had been hacked. He would then coax people into generating an OTP (one-time password), which he used to withdraw money from their accounts. ....
