– During a recent interview with Fightful, former WWE Superstar Cinta de Oro (aka Sin Cara) discussed his short-lived pairing with Catalina Garcia (aka Katrina Perez) in late 2019, along with Paul Heyman telling him his character was dead. Below is an excerpt: “They were trying to push Andrade and Zelina Vega during that time. So, they brought Catalina with me to help with the storyline that was going on. I actually thought they I was going to continue having this young lady with me over the course of, maybe, a year to build something up and then all of a sudden they told me, ‘No. We’re only going to bring her here for a few weeks. Once it’s over, it’s done.’ I was like, ‘Okay. So, what’s next after that? What’s next for me? What am I gonna do? Am I suppose to just sit around again and wait?’ That was, I think, one of the things that made me decide that I wanted to leave the company, that I was done with the company. In an interview with Fightful, Cinta de Oro (formerly Sin Cara) spoke about getting sent to anger management by WWE for his altercations with Chris Jericho, Sheamus and Simon Gotch. Here are highlights: On fighting people backstage in WWE: “I got sent to anger management classes. Yep, by WWE. Exactly. A lot of people have noticed, but they sent me. But, I don’t have an anger issue. Like, people that know me, they understand that it’s a respect issue. I grew up in the hood in El Segundo Barrio El Paso and Cuidad Juarez, that’s how you get respect, you know? If they don’t respect you, then you got to show them how to respect. For me, it’s never been about proving anything to anybody. If I made it to the WWE it was because I was talented enough to be there, you know? But, I got in a few here and there.” ....
, former WWE superstar Cinta de Oro (fka Sin Cara, Hunico) detailed his frustrations with the lack of prominent Latino representation in WWE. “I never wanted to get into this conversation, but I feel like we need to now,” Cinta said. “It’s true. With everything that is going on in the world, the Latinos or Mexicanos can never really join forces to do something powerful. It’s always been other people. You can see what’s happened nowadays when the Black Lives Matter movement started. It was great to see all them join together and do something positive for everybody, for the community. And when that happened everybody in WWE was a champion, right? Bobby Lashley, New Day, all those guys. Which is great, they’re good friends of mine and I love them, but what about us? We want a shot. We want an opportunity.” ....
In an interview with Wrestling Inc, Cinta de Oro (formerly Sin Cara and Hunico) said that Latin American stars are not given a chance to succeed in WWE and talked about how they deserve an opportunity. Here are highlights: On Latin American stars in WWE: “I never wanted to get into this conversation, but I feel like we need to now. It’s true. With everything that is going on in the world, the Latinos or Mexicanos can never really join forces to do something powerful. It’s always been other people. You can see what’s happened nowadays when the Black Lives Matter movement started. It was great to see all them join together and do something positive for everybody, for the community. Andrade’s first match post-WWE has been announced for July. Andrade confirmed on Instagram this morning that he would be facing Alberto El Patron in July for Nacion Lucha Libre in McAllen, Texas. Patron had also said in an interview with Super Luchas on April 27 that a match between the two would happen on July 31. The article in Super Luchas also listed Kalisto, Primo, Epico, Cinta de Oro (Sin Cara), Hijo de Dos Caras, Hijo de Dr. Wagner, Blue Demon Jr., and Sexy Dulce as appearing on the card. Since being released by WWE earlier this year, Andrade has teased returning to wrestling, showing a picture of himself signing a contract on Instagram. Unlike other releases, he does not have a 90-day no compete clause. ....
