Orangevale residents may get an unexpected knock on their door this afternoon.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is conducting a smoke alarm blitz after a fatal house fire. Metro Fire isn t entering homes, but will provide information on proper fire and carbon monoxide alarm instillation. They re visiting residents near Lake Natoma Drive and Tanglewood Circle between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Dog Ridge Water issues boil notice after line break

BELTON â The Dog Ridge Water Supply Corp. issued a boil water notice Thursday after a water line break in the 2700 block of Tanglewood Circle.
Customers affected by the notice live on Tanglewood Circle, Lynette Drive, Fort Road, Park Trail, Vista Trail and Hood Trail, the supplier said.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be brought to a rolling, vigorous boil for two minutes before consumption. In lieu of boiling, customers may purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source.
The water supplier will issue a rescind notice when the water is safe to drink. ....

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA More than $10 million worth of water infrastructure projects are underway in six Delaware County municipalities, according to Aqua Pennsylvania.
Aqua is undertaking $10.2 million in infrastructure improvement projects in Upper Providence, Nether Providence, Middletown, Marple and Haverford townships and Rose Valley Borough to improve service reliability for customers throughout the county.
In Upper Providence and Nether Providence, crews began work on a $2 million project replacing 9,744 feet of aging 6-, 8- and 10-inch water mains with new 4-, 6-, 8- and 12-inch ductile iron water mains on the following streets: ....
