Emuri Village in Nadroga turaga-ni-koro Apenisa Ratu said villagers who travelled from Lautoka and Suva to Emuri were being isolated in a settlement near the village. He said they would not be allowed into the village until Health Ministry officials gave them the nod. Mr Ratu said they had received three villagers from Lautoka and one from Suva. ....

Picture: FT FILE Forty-four cases were arrested in the last 24-hours for failing to comply with curfew orders as well as breaching COVID-19 restrictions. Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says of the 44, 18 were arrested for failing to comply with curfew orders while 26 found to have breached the COVID-19 restrictions that have been enforced. He said the Southern Division recorded 23 cases, with 22 in relation to COVID-19 restrictions while a 26-year-old man of Samabula was found drunk in the Namadi Heights area within curfew hours. Mr Tudravu said eight people were arrested in the Eastern Division for failing to comply with curfew orders while the Northern Division recorded five cases – where all were found drunk at Nadawa Street in Labasa, Wailevu area, and Wairiki in Taveuni during curfew hours. ....

Timoci Vula 13 April, 2021, 1:27 pm The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has advised its western customers that it would be carrying out the essential installation of a valve and mainline at the junction of MN Naidu and Field 40. This work will be carried out on Thursday (15/4/21), and it will cause disruption in water supply to customers living around MN Naidu and Kalacraft. “We kindly advise residents in affected areas to prepare accordingly and store enough water for two to three days’ worth of use,” the WAF stated. Meanwhile, a broken main at Nayawa Main Highway has disrupted supply for customers living from Sigatoka Town to Korotogo Back Road. ....
