Duane Littlejohn Duane Littlejohn, a lifelong resident of St. Thomas, ND passed away in his home April 26, 2021. He farmed and maintained his career in the insurance business there for more than 50 years. The youngest of 4 brothers, Duane was born in Grafton on August 13, 1938, to Raymond and Florence (Hanna) Littlejohn. He graduated from St. Thomas High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of North Dakota, marrying his high school sweetheart, Carol (Larson) Littlejohn in 1959. They have been married for almost 62 years. Duane’s high school music teacher, Elmer Anderson, helped Duane develop his singing ability, which led Duane to become a soloist for the men’s vocal touring group at UND, the Varsity Bards. Duane also became a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, serving as social chair and as president of the fraternity. During this weekend s commencement exercises, Ushendibaba will graduate with a business degree in information systems. âWhen I came here to Fairmont State, it was my first time in the country. After seeing the United States in pictures or in movies, I expected a place like New York City,â he said. âTo my surprise, Fairmont was the total opposite, but it ended up becoming a place I really enjoy and holds a memorable place in my heart.â ....

Dr. William âLukeâ Johnson, Jr., DDS, PA, age 79, died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on April 18, 2021, after a valiant fight with cancer. Born in Sullivan County, TN, on September 24, 1941, to the late William Luke Johnson, Sr., and Margaret Akard Johnson, Luke spent most of his childhood playing baseball with his late uncle, James Craft Akard, whom he loved like a father. He received his BS from East Tennessee State University, where he was involved in ROTC and served as President of his fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha. There he met the love of his life, Glenda Faye Prillaman. They married on November 30, 1963. Without a doubt, his favorite thing in all the world was to see her smile and hold her hand. In fact, his constant affection for Glenda was a source of embarrassment to his children. ....
