WASHINGTON – Two top health officials in the Trump administration were subpoenaed on Monday after a congressional investigation found political meddling at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention over the coronavirus crisis was far more extensive and dangerous than previously known.  
The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, led by Democratic Majority Whip James Clyburn, issued subpoenas to CDC Director Robert Redfield and Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar to produce a full set of records the panel had previously asked for in September by Dec. 30.  ....

Trump administration political appointees tried to block or change more than a dozen government reports that detailed scientific findings about the spread of the coronavirus, a US House panel investigating the alleged interference says.

House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC), on behalf of the The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, has issued subpoenas for HHS Secretary Alex Azar and CDC Director Robert Redfield. In the letter, Clyburn demands that the officials produce any documents related to claims that the HHS interfered with scientific work conducted by career officials at the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention.
The subpoenas were necessary because the Select Subcommittee’s investigation has
revealed that efforts to interfere with scientific work at CDC were far more extensive and
dangerous than previously known, Clyburn writes. Documents recently obtained by the Subcommittee show that ....
