In a letter sent on April 12, Superintendent Charlie Bouchard informed parents and guardians that administration was undertaking a review process with teachers across all grade levels from within the division. Once the review process is complete at the end of April, all teachers will have the opportunity to complete a survey indicating whether they are interested in piloting the new curriculum. Article content As the Alberta Teachers’ Association calls for the Government of Alberta to stop all work on the piloting and implementation of the draft curriculum until an independent, open and full review and rewrite can occur, Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools Division and St. Thomas Aquinnis Roman Catholic Schools are reviewing Alberta Education’s K-6 draft curriculum before making a decision to pilot any or all of it in the fall. “Alberta’s students and teachers require an appropriate and workable curriculum. The government is being told loudly and clearly that this curriculum is unacceptable.
