A Deerfield Township woman accused of stabbing her 3-year-old neighbor faced a judge Thursday for the first time since the alleged attack.Xiaoyan Zhu is charged with felonious assault for the March 4 incident.Defense attorney Nick Graman entered a not guilty plea on Zhu s behalf. He told Judge Andrew Batsche that doctors have regulated her medication and her mental health issue is now under control. She s in a much better state now than she was then, Graman said. Zhu is accused of attacked a 3-year-old boy with a ceramic knife outside their homes on Charleston Park Drive in Deerfield Township.The child was outside with his older brother who was waiting for the school bus.Zhu s daughter was in virtual learning at the time, saw what was going on and told her teacher something was wrong. Xiaoyan Zhu, 46, in Deerfield Twp. had been hospitalized and under evaluation since March 4 when she allegedly stabbed the child with a ceramic knife, according to the Warren County Sheriffâs Office. She was booked Wednesday afternoon into the Warren County Jail. Judge D.
