Northamptonshire elections: Tories sorry for 'farcical' leaflet gaffe

A political party has apologised for distributing election leaflets printed with templated campaign promises.
The pamphlet urged voters in West Northamptonshire to vote Conservative so that we can [insert prominent local pledges here, eg save our libraries] .
Library campaigners called the error farcical , given the Tory-run county council had previously drawn up plans to axe 21 library branches.
The Conservatives apologised for any confusion or distress caused.
The leaflet, published in the Silverstone ward of the new unitary authority, was roundly criticised by other political parties.

A 12th century manor house that was once the summer residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury has gone on the market for £3.5 million.
Addington House, in Croydon, south London, comprises six bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen/ breakfast room, utility room, five reception rooms, sauna, cinema, classroom, wine cellar, old bakery and a garage.

The centuries-old practice of aristocratic titles only being passed on to male descendants could be about to come to an end, with several high-society heiresses set to inherit the family land and titles. 
Boris Johnson is understood to have ordered the issue of male primogeniture be looked into as part of plans to make Parliament more welcoming to women.
