Henderson County High School quick recall team repeat state champion

The quick recall team from Henderson County High School is the state champion  again.
The Colonels captured the Governor s Cup quick recall state title after an undefeated run through a weekend of competition that ended Monday night, defending the championship the school won in 2019.
There was no Governor s Cup competition in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
HCHS won the title match 49-37 over Campbell County, a perennial state power that edged Henderson for the quick recall championship in 2017.
In this tournament, we never trailed any team by more than three points and never trailed anyone in the 2nd half, Head Coach Brian Sullivan said. In the past five years at state, our Quick Recall team is 35-3. No other team in the state is even close to that level of success over that period. ....
