Or a citizen just looking to contribute to the greater good of the local community? The second annual Yinz Citizen concert is looking for local bands, singer-songwriters, hip-hop artists and other notable yinzers for a virtual music fundraiser on Sept. 16. All proceeds will benefit local nonprofit 412 Food Rescue. Artists already confirmed to perform include Derek Woods Band, Swiss Army and INEZ. The program, which is in its third year and led by the players with support from the team, is an effort to engage with various factions, including law enforcement, charitable organizations, military and more to strengthen the community at large. Primanti Bros. is partnering with 412 Food Rescue to address food insecurity in Western Pennsylvania. The collaboration will allow anyone ordering from Primanti Bros. online to request the restaurant make a monetary donation to 412 Food Rescue, a local nonprofit that fights hunger and food waste. Customers can enter coupon code “412” at checkout to have Primanti Bros. donate $1 in their name through the end of February. The partnership began in early December, said Primanti’s Director of Marketing Ryan Wilkinson. The chain wanted to continue it into 2021. “We are very supportive of the great work that 412 Food Rescue does and we think that in the atmosphere today, maybe more than ever, there are people out there with food insecurities,” Wilkinson said. ....
