He also talked with a different patient who had been infected with COVID-19 prior to getting the first vaccination. They reported getting quite ill with that first dose and were hesitant to get the second because they fear it will be worse. He says generally patients are able to get through the adverse side effects with acetaminophen. There is, however, a specific timeline for getting that second dose. Typically, patients are called back after three weeks with the Pfizer vaccine and four weeks with Moderna. These timelines can be pushed to about six weeks before the patient will have to start over at step one.
