INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. The Incline Village General Improvement District Board of Trustees voted to move forward with remodeling the upstairs bathrooms at the recreation center, but delayed the locker room remodel project. The upstairs bathroom project was brought to the board during its April 29 meeting. The board was asked to approve designs that they hadn’t seen. Chairman Tim Callicrate and Trustees Matthew Dent and Sara Schmitz expressed frustration about the process the project had gone through, especially that the board didn’t get to weigh in on the design. During the Wednesday, May 12 meeting, the project was brought to the board again. One of the main concerns by staff is that the bathrooms are not ADA accessible, and while no one is requiring the district to make the bathrooms accessible, staff felt it was prudent to do so. ....
[email protected] INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. The Incline Village General Improvement District Board of Trustees on Thursday voted to raise beach venue rates. The rate increases include adult daily beach guest access, kayak storage, paddleboard storage, daily boat launch fees, and season pass watercraft launch fees. For the daily beach guest access price, there were previously peak and nonpeak season prices. Staff recommends just charging one price, $15 throughout the whole year. Kayak storage would increase from $250 to $275 and paddleboard storage would increase from $175 to $195. General Manager Indra Winquest said there are 900 spots for paddleboards and kayaks in storage and an extensive waiting list for spots. However, he said many of those spots remain empty throughout the season, with people are not using them. ....
[email protected] INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. Many Incline Village residents shared their opinions on a possible mobility hub over the past month. The proposed mobility hub could possibly be constructed at the old elementary school site, although the Tahoe Transportation District said they are open to considering other locations. However, many residents spoke out saying they felt they weren’t being included in the process and TTD was acting in secrecy. For the past month, TTD has hosted four workshops which were meant to inform residents about the possible project. On Friday, March 5, TTD board members Alexis Hill, also a Washoe County commissioner, and Andy Chapman along with Executive Director Carl Hasty hosted a listening session. ....
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. The Washoe County Commission approved the first reading of a short-term rental ordinance, over a year after it was first introduced to the commission. The ordinance covers STRs in the unincorporated areas of Washoe County, and nearly 90% of them are in Incline Village and Crystal Bay. The ordinance was brought to the board in Feb. 2020 and at that time, the commission said several changes needed to be made before approving it. Since then, Incline Village residents have been reaching out to county staff with the list of things they’d like to see in the ordinance. When drafting the ordinance, county staff adopted the mission statement to, “adopt simple, fair and enforceable regulations for STRs that balance competing interests and maximize voluntary compliance.” ....
