Pay raises, bonuses for teachers, staff in Stuttgart School District; free lunches reinstated

Stuttgart teachers received a bonus and a raise at the final meeting Tuesday of the Stuttgart School Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 school year.
Stuttgart School District Superintendent Dr. Rick Gales recommended a one-time bonus of $1,000 for full-time faculty and staff and a $500 bonus for part-time and support staff. He said the approximate cost to the district would be $291,550 and the bonuses would be distributed with the regular May payroll. ....

VICTORIA Legal experts and a mother whose ex-partner was convicted of murdering their two daughters hope changes to Canada’s Divorce Act will better protect children.
Changes to the law took effect at the beginning of March. They place more emphasis on the needs of children during divorce and, as a result, aim to minimize legal battles between parents over custody orders, said Prof. Sara Ramshaw, a family law expert at the University of Victoria.
