After its meeting last week was cut short, the Helena Public Schools board of trustees canvassed the school district s 2021 election results and swore in new trustee Janet Armstrong and incumbent trustee Terry Beaver during a special meeting held online Tuesday evening.Â
Board chair Luke Muszkiewicz abruptly closed the hybrid online and in-person meeting of the board on May 11, after some in attendance refused to wear a mask as required by the school board s policy to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Tuesday s special meeting was held to complete the time-sensitive business that the board did not finish last week.Â ....

Team Nancy, in tribute to Hudson resident Nancy Sullivan, has walked in the Multiple Sclerosis Fund annual walk for the past 27 years.
This year on May 1, family, friends and former classmates walked 3 miles on Hudson streets in tribute to Nancy, and to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Fund. The walk, held annually in Concord, was postponed last year due to Covid.
Nancy is the wife of Hudson native Paul Sullivan, who is captain of Team Nancy.

When the term “human trafficking” is mentioned, many people get the image of men, women and children in the back of a truck or in a shipping container being secretly transported across an international border.
The reality of human trafficking is that it happens out in the open in our neighborhoods and communities.
Florida consistently ranks in the top states for instances of human trafficking and Jacksonville is situated with the intersection of Interstates 95 and 10 making it easier for trafficking networks to move people from one place to another.
Survivors of human trafficking have significant legal hurdles to pass to rejoin society. ....

HELENA â According to initial results, it appears voters in the Helena School District have elected Janet Armstrong to the school board and reelected incumbent trustee Terry Beaver.
Tuesday, May 4 was the annual school election day across Montana.
In the race for Helena School Board, Armstrong and Beaver had wide leads for the two open positions. After the first batch of results were released immediately after 8 p.m. Tuesday, Armstrong was in first place with 6,587 votes, followed by Beaver with 6,329. They were followed by Charlotte Sanborn with 2,850 votes, Greg Guthrie with 2,849, Erik Rose with 1,496 and Neal Blossom with 863. ....
