U.K. money management firms show progress in gender pay gap

Some of the U.K. s largest money management firms improved their gender pay gap in 2020 compared with 2019, but managers say they are still struggling to increase the number of women in the senior roles that command the highest pay.
U.K.-based companies with at least 250 employees are required to publicly state on an annual basis the average hourly pay difference between male and female employees. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, firms were given an extension until October 2021 to publish their 2020/2021 figures.

MHA provides residential and day programs for those who have been impacted by a severe brain injury, and were assessed by a skilled nursing facility for state referral to such programs. The brain controls body functions so this impact may mean issues with communication, muscle coordination, irritability among the physical, cognitive and behavioral changes seen, that could be temporary or permanent, depending on the cause.

Steven O. Silva, 48, of 268 Flanders Road, No. 16, Mystic, was charged Tuesday with second-degree violation of conditions of release and Monday with second-degree threatening.
Lisa A. Stark, 29, of PO Box 537, Gales Ferry, was charged Monday with possession of a controlled substance or more than a half-ounce of cannabis, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace.
Rebecca L. Fraser, 45, of 9 Sunniecrest Drive, Waterford, was charged Jan. 2 with operating/towing an unregistered motor vehicle, operating motor vehicle under suspension and traveling unreasonably fast.
Robert W. Kaiser, 43, of 56 Deerwood Drive was charged Jan. 2 with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault.
The board also approved Mt. Blue Assistant Principal Joel Smith to serve as the high school’s interim principal to replace Poulin. Smith will receive a stipend to cover his enhanced responsibilities.
In regard to fast-tracking the administrative hires, Meserve said that the district’s policy includes exceptions to the hiring process for unique circumstances.
“There is a pretty lengthy process and anyone who has been part of hiring administrators knows there’s usually a two-month or even a three-month process at times,” Meserve said. “And this has happened pretty rapidly partly because we’re in an emergency situation with a transition midyear, we’re in the middle of a pandemic and it’s important to get them filled.”
