Israel Folau takes out Supreme Court injunction against Queensland Rugby League

The Sydney Morning Herald has obtained Folau’s application to the Supreme Court, which highlights a clause in the playing rules which relates to an international clearance.
The clause states that: “Any player who played in an overseas competition which is not controlled by the ARLC in the preceding Football Year shall not be registered without first obtaining a written clearance through the ARLC.”

Israel Folau has reportedly taken out a Federal Court injunction against the Queensland Rugby League, making good on his threat to sue over his blocked return to rugby league in Australia.
The Queensland Rugby League had yet to register Folau s contract with Gold Coast A-Grade side the Southport Tigers after his UK Super League club Catalans revealed that Folau was still under contract with the club.
