Barbados Medical Cannabis Licensing Authority, TVET sign MOU

Article by Social Share The Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority (BMCLA) and the Technical & Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Council signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) this morning that will allow Barbadians to achieve Level 2 and Level 3 certification in medicinal cannabis cultivation. Chief executive officer of the BMCLA, Dr Shantal Munro-Knight said the TVET Council was one of the entities they approached when talks of a medicinal cannabis industry being established in Barbados were broached. Additionally, Munro-Knight said they were looking at launching other initiatives to build out the industry as an inclusive and that would allow them to build the necessary capacity for Barbadians who wanted to participate in the industry.

Cannabis Authority links with TradeLab Clinic Article by May 18, 2021 The Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority (BMCLA) has entered into a strategic agreement with The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus (UWI Cave Hill) TradeLab clinic managed by the Faculty of Law and the Shridath Ramphal Centre for International Trade Law, Policy and Services (SRC). The initiative is led by co-directors, Dr. Ronnie Yearwood, lecturer in law at the Faculty of Law and Dr. Jan Remy, Deputy Director of the SRC. UWI Cave Hill is home to one of the newest and the first TradeLab clinics in the Caribbean. TradeLab is a prestigious network of Universities across the world. TradeLab uses a practical teaching method, involving legal clinics to engage law students across the world to provide free legal advice on trade and investment issues to developing country beneficiaries.
