Santander Work Café, St Helier
Santander’s innovative Work Café concept provides customers with a new banking experience. Alongside state-of-the-art banking facilities, the Work Café offers free co-working spaces and meeting rooms for local businesses and entrepreneurs, as well fast and secure free-Wi-Fi. It aims to create a vibrant hub for nurturing new business ideas and fostering collaboration in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Work Café concept was initially developed by Santander in Chile and its success has seen it rolled out to Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Argentina.
Having first arrived in the UK in Leeds, the latest Café is located 13-15 Charing Cross, St Helier, Jersey. Renovations of a former Thomas Cook shop have taken the building up to the highest standards, with spacious, well ventilated rooms, accessible bathrooms, and easy-to-clean surfaces. The fit out was overseen by Style Shopfitting.
Santander International expands its operations in the Isle of Man

Santander International has announced plans to expand its operations on the Island. It proposes to move the remainder of its operations roles that are currently in Jersey to the Isle of Man to improve productivity and efficiency. The majority of Santander International’s customer service and operational activities are already based in the Isle of Man, and the move would see the remaining operational roles (currently based in Jersey) transition to operate from one location. This would see the creation of 13 new roles on the island. As a result of the proposed changes, Santander International’s headcount in the Isle of Man will increase from 62 to 75. All staff have been informed of the proposed changes.

London – Syncordis, the global Temenos implementation partner and product experts, and Temenos (SIX: TEMN), the banking software company, announced that Santander International, part of the Banco Santander group, has selected Temenos SaaS, implemented by Syncordis, to power-up its core banking platform transformation.
Syncordis will help Santander International, which has branches in Jersey and the Isle of Man, to transform its banking, savings and mortgage products IT infrastructure from an on-premise solution to cloud-native Temenos SaaS. This will enable Santander International to benefit from the security, resilience and elastic scalability of the Microsoft Azure cloud.
Moving to the Temenos cloud-native and API-first digital banking platform with pre-configured banking and mortgages functionality will enable the bank to build and launch products faster and deliver enhanced digital experiences with streamlined customer journeys.
