OPINION: Killeen voters must decide if council, mayor get pay raise

And in Killeen, that certainly appears to be the case as of late.
At Tuesdayâs Killeen City Council workshop, the prospect of increasing compensation for the mayor and city council members came up â a change that would require adjustments to the city charter.
Those changes would necessitate a charter election, and council members set the wheels in motion for such an initiative, with a motion of direction to put proposed charter changes before voters by the May 2022 election.
Would voters approve increasing the compensation for the cityâs office holders? It is currently capped at $100 per month for council members and $200 monthly for the mayor. ....

Missouri City City Council moves forward with proposed May charter amendment election

Missouri City City Council gave initial approval to six charter amendments and a May election where residents will vote on each proposed amendment during its Jan. 11 special meeting.
Each of the six charter amendments was recommended by the 2020 Charter Review Commission, a committee of five Missouri City residents which meets every four years to discuss proposed changes to the city charter. The charter outlines how the city government is structured as well as its rules and procedures.
The six proposed charter amendments are as follows:
to delete the provision in the charter that states the mayor shall act as chief administrative officer until a city manager is appointed; ....

For 2021, ISS reports for Russell 3000 or S&P 1500 companies will
highlight boards that lack racial and/or ethnic diversity (or lack diversity disclosure).
For 2022, for Russell 3000 or S&P 1500 companies where board has no apparent racially or ethnically diverse members, will generally recommend voting against or withhold from nominating committee chair (or other directors on case-by-case basis).
Exception will be made if company had racial and/or ethnic diversity on board at preceding annual meeting and board makes firm commitment to appoint at least one racial and/or ethnic diverse member within one year. ....
