APRIL 20 We, the undersigned and a collective of friends whose friendship began in Convent Bukit Nanas Primary and Secondary schools strongly object to the intended non-renewal of its land lease which is due to expire on Sept 6 this year. We are encouraged by the leave granted by the High Court here to mount a challenge against the non-renewal of its land lease as mentioned earlier. We owe our career and personal successes to the school itself. Convent Bukit Nanas, like all the mission schools in Malaysia, promoted discipline, tenacity and resilience, and even more importantly, multiculturalism. ....

Dr. Danette LeBaron, a pediatric physician at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center and a U.S. Air Force veteran; Kacie Patton, a senior deputy probation officer for the Solano County; Gethsemane Moss, a teacher in the Vallejo City School District, Benicia school board trustee and president and chief executive officer of the Chocolate Daisy Unsilenced nonprofit; and Susan Rotchy, executive director of Independent Living Resources of Solano and Contra Counties, will be featured. ....
Commission for Women and Girls announces new members, officers FAIRFIELD Rechelle Nettles has been selected as the new representative for Fairfield on the Solano Commission for Women and Girls, and Andrea Lemos will represent the Solano County Office of Education. The commission’s new officers are Chairwoman Laura Petty, Vice Chairwoman Jennifer Hamilton, Secretary Gayle Vaughan and Treasurer Sakina Ali. Nettles brings 20 years of nonprofit experience to the commission, including as the development director of the Girl Scouts of America and as a director for the Boys and Girls Club of America. She also has worked with the homeless and those leaving prison or jail. ....
