The afternoon of Monday, April 19, two women were at the Blue Diamond at 1313 Cumberland St. on Saginaw’s East Side. The women, who were already known to each other, began arguing over a man, Saginaw Police Detective Sgt. Matthew Gerow said. One of the women, an 18-year-old Saginaw resident, stepped out of the store and entered her van in the parking lot. She waited for the other woman to exit the store, then put her van in gear and rammed it into the other woman, Gerow said. ....

Facebook Share SAGINAW, MI Police are advising the public of a recent uptick in the theft of catalytic converters from vehicles. “Catalytic converters contain precious metals that are extremely valuable,” said Saginaw Police Detective Sgt. Oscar Lopez. “Thieves can remove a catalytic converter within minutes and then sell them to scrapyards.” Police agencies across the Great Lakes Bay Region have been fielding several complaints of converters being stolen, Lopez said.
