Massive street dance was a hit with the community


Organized by the Downtown Business Association, it attracted approximately 1,500 people.
Event spokesperson Josh LeBlanc called it an “amazing” night. He praised the atmosphere, the music supplied by musical acts El Guitaro and Fog Dog, and the conduct of the crowd.
“Fogdog and El Guitaro were really, really good,” LeBlanc told the Mercury. “The crowd seemed to love them. We received nothing but great reviews and compliments throughout the night on them.
“Everyone was smiling and laughing and having a good time. I don’t think I’ve seen that many people hugging and high-fiving in a long time. The bar was absolutely swamped all night. People were enjoying the refreshments.” ....

Majority of tickets issued in Saskatchewan for breaking COVID-19 rules remain unresolved

Nearly 80 per cent of charges handed out in Saskatchewan for alleged violations of COVID-19 public health restrictions have yet to be heard, according to new data provided by the province s Ministry of Justice. 
A total of 155 charges had been laid under Saskatchewan s
Public Health Act as of April 30, 2021, the most recent date that figures are available for.
Most of those charges, 127, are still waiting to be heard by a court or for a resolution to be reached.  ....

2 men ticketed after alleged large gathering at Saskatoon-area rental mansion sparks COVID-19 outbreak

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is warning anyone who was at the 5 Cherry Lane mansion south of Saskatoon from May 9 to May 16 to immediately self-isolate, after they learned at least one attendee was infected with COVID-19.(5 Cherry Lane/Facebook)
The Corman Park Police Service has ticketed two men, including one from Ontario, for allegedly organizing a large gathering at a rental mansion located just south of Saskatoon.
Saskatchewan health officials are now flagging the event as a COVID-19 outbreak, with anyone who attended being asked to immediately self-isolate. 
Meanwhile, the owner of the mansion says guests are being allowed to extend their one-week stay by another two weeks so that they can self-isolate after one or two of them tested positive for COVID-19. ....

Regina 'freedom' rally, attended by PPC leader Bernier, results in 16 tickets issued

A ‘freedom’ rally held Saturday afternoon in Regina has resulted in 16 tickets being issued by the Regina Police Service.
Regina police handed out summary offence tickets, under the Saskatchewan Public Health Act, for violation of the province’s public health order in regards to public gathering restrictions currently in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets were issued for failing to comply with the public health order by participating in an outdoor gathering exceeding the current limit of 10 people.
