Forty-five students graduated from Genesee Valley Central School on Saturday

BELMONT Forty-five students graduated from Genesee Valley Central School on Saturday, June 26 at the school’s 25th commencement ceremony.
Graduation took place under a tent on the soccer field with board members, school administrators, family, and friends in attendance.
Graduating senior Emera Aquila gave the official Class Welcome.
“Although we are not sure of where life will take us,” she commented, “we do know that everything we have been through has made us who we are today.”
Kayci Bigelow, daughter of Jennifer and Bill Bigelow, graduated as valedictorian with a 96.55 average. In her valedictory address, Bigelow encouraged her classmates to step out of their comfort zones as they head into the future.

BELMONT, N.Y. Five senior girls at Genesee Valley Central School are staying connected with each other and their community amid a pandemic thanks to a growing art project.
The photo collage features dozens of people young and old with and without their masks. Originally, the girls wanted to have people write messages on masks for a bigger art installation, but for safety reasons, they decided against a large public display.
