Head of the Pediatric Unit of the Mount St John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC), Dr Shivon Belle Jarvis, advised yesterday that once these signs are evident, a parent or guardian must immediately seek medical attention. “If by 12-months the child is not babbling or shows little response to name, concerning; 16-months, few words, concerning; by 24-months, if they are not saying two-word phrases, again concerning,” Belle Jarvis said. ....

Overcrowding causing concern at vaccination sites, health officials urge public to follow instructions given on site Spread the love Just days into the start of the national vaccination programme, health officials are pleased with the turnout at the established vaccination sites. However, according to a number of residents, the system was riddled with disorganisation. The programme was officially rolled out on Monday, with residents who registered to get Covid-19 vaccines starting to receive them at four sites across Antigua. Several hospital doctors infected with Covid-19 The hospital’s head of marketing Salma Crump confirmed the news on Wednesday. “People refer to folks on the frontline as heroes but they are just regular men and women that are taking care of people. This is what happens when you are on the frontline. This is what our workers are exposed to,” she told Observer yesterday.
