MY EDMONDS NEWS Posted: July 17, 2021 29 Tickets for the 2021 Edmonds in Bloom Garden Tour are completely sold out – a first in the event’s 25-year history. For those who have purchased tickets for the Sunday, July 18 event, the will-call ticket area is at Salish Crossing, 190 Sunset Ave. S., starting at 10 a.m. There will be no tickets available for sale on the day of the tour. “There was a flurry of sales last week and the early birds got all the worms,” said Jeanne Thorsen, Garden Tour chair “People are eager to get out and enjoy gardens and we appreciate their enthusiastic ticket purchases.” The tour limits the number of tickets so that there is room to see and enjoy the garden spaces and time to talk to the garden hosts and tour volunteers about specific plants and designs. ....

She replaces Leigh Ann Gilmer, who left the museum to take another job. Born and raised in the Seattle area, Chittenden comes to Cascadia Art Museum with over two decades of administrative and educational leadership at University Child Development School in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood. She has also worked as an international leadership and educational consultant, specializing in building and growing organizations. She not only managed day to day operations of the $13 million non-profit, her work also encompassed marketing, strategic planning, budgeting, curriculum development, board collaborations, capital campaigns and managing multiple construction projects. In a recent letter addressed to the Edmonds City Council, Edmonds restaurant owner Shubert Ho expressed his appreciation for the city government support that has enabled Edmonds businesses to continue and thrive in our community. “I’m writing to thank you all (councilmembers) for passing the Streateries Ordinance, which has ensured the vitality of our restaurant and retail industry in Edmonds,” Ho said. His letter went on to praise the “diligence and speed of drafting this code by the City Development Department,” and the impact this made on ensuring restaurants can continue to do business. “You all heard our cry for help,” said Ho, who along with partner Andrew Leckie operates six restaurants through their Feed Me Hospitality and Restaurant Group. ....
