The key equity barometers reversed gains and slipped into the negative terrain in morning trade. The Nifty, however, managed to hold above the 15,550 mark. Metal shares corrected after a three-day wining streak.
At 10:22 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was down 93.56 points or 0.18% to 51,843.88. The Nifty 50 index lost 26.20 points or 0.17% to 15,556.60.
In broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index shed 0.33% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index declined 0.35%.
The market breadth was negative. On the BSE, 1265 shares rose and 1484 shares fell. A total of 114 shares were unchanged.

Salasar Techno Engineering added 1.13% to Rs 599.50 after the company said it secured a project worth Rs 238.65 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL).PGCIL, vide their letter dated 22 May 2021, has awarded power projects to Salasar Techno Engineering. The orders include construction of 201 Km transmission line network and construction of 4 new power substations in the Arunachal Pradesh.
The transmission line network will be of 132KV type and the substations will be of the extra high voltage capacity. The estimated cost of the work allocated to the company is Rs 238.65 crore. It involves supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of transmission towers and substations.

Salasar launches heavy structural steel manufacturing unit in UP, to generate 1,000 jobs
Salasar Techno Engineering has launched its new manufacturing plant for structural steel fabrication in Hapur of Uttar Pradesh. The newly launched plant is one of the largest installed capacities in north India with a total production capacity of 15000 tonne per annum. It will give employment to more than 1000 people including contracted labor.Â
Salasar, a leading steel fabrication and infrastructure company that was set up in 2001, said that the manufacturing unit is spread over 60,000 sq meters. The plant will provide heavy structural steel fabrication for bridges, power plants, process plants, high-rise buildings, PEB buildings, Warehouses, Airport hangers, and Metro stations. The facility will be aimed at providing 360-degree solutions for heavy steel structures, starting from structural design to fabrication, supply, erection and handover to end-user. Â
