WE SPOKE WITH A WOMAN WHO’S BACKYARD CONNECTS TO THE VA CAMPUS. SHE TELLS US IN THE 30 YEAR. SHE’S LIVED IN HER HOME. SHE’S WATCHED THINGS HERE SLOWLY DETERIORATE IT’S JUST SAD THAT IT CAME TO THIS BECAUSE IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL. PLACE FOR THE VETERANS AT ONE TIME BUT OVERGROWN GRASS BUSHES AND TREES ARE TELLTALE SIGNS OF NEGLECT THIS WEEK WHEN THE KNOXVILLE COUNCIL AND THE MARION COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVED THIS CONCEPT PLAN FOR THE SITE IT LEFT SANDY DYER WITH MIXED FEELINGS. I AM EXCITED TO SEE SOME ACTIVITY AND SOMETHING PLANNED FOR THE CITY. I’M NOT SURE IT’S THE RIGHT PLAN THE PLAN INCLUDES APARTMENTS TOWNHOMES ROW HOUSES AND SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES HOUSING IS A SIGNIFICANT NEED NEED HERE IN THE COUNTY. WITH MORE THAN 150 ACRES OF AVAILABLE GROUN ....

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Tarik Khan rushed to his car, carrying 10 syringes full of the coronavirus vaccine. He had only six hours to get them into the arms of some of Philadelphia’s most vulnerable residents.
The family nurse practitioner climbed behind the wheel and turned the ignition. The gas light flashed on already, a delay getting shots to people who are homebound and depending on him.
Vaccine vials are opened every day, but sometimes, people don’t show up for appointments. That vaccine must still be administered within hours or it expires, creating Khan’s unusual lottery. ....
