Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has declared a cyclone  emergency in districts of the province lying on the coastal belt of the province. 
The decision was taken on Saturday when the chief minister was presiding over a meeting today at the CM House where he declared an emergency in all districts located along the coastal belt. 
The decision was taken as a precaution so that any untoward situation can be avoided.
“A control room should be established at the chief secretary s office to keep close coordination with all the districts, in respect of their requirements and giving them necessary instruction on behalf of the government,” he said. ....

PMD forecasts three days of high temperatures in Karachi


Daytime temperatures may rise to 38ºC-40ºC

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Thursday forecast higher than average temperatures for Karachi from April 23 till April 25.
Forecasting for the next three days, the Met department said that daytime temperatures may rise to 38ºC-40ºC.
According to an advisory issued by Assistant Meteorologist Ghulam Hussain Channa, sea breezes would not blow during the daytime, however, would likely resume in the evening.
North and northwest hot and dry winds will affect the city during the heatwave, the assistant meteorologist added.
According to PMD s spokesperson Sardar Sarfraz, humidity is likely to increase by 60 per cent during the day, while the southwest winds of the sea would be blocked for 72 hours. There was no possibility of a heatwave, he added. ....
