Sapphire residents air concerns after major flood

Facebook takes down official page for French town called Bitche

Island FM Facebook has been criticised after taking down the official page for the French town of Bitche. Local broadcaster Radio Melodie reported that the page was taken down, forcing the municipal communications officer to create a new one under another name. Ms Valerie Degouy said the new page was named after the town s post code, Mairie 57230, as reported by Politico. Ms Degouy said: I tried to reach out to Facebook in every possible way, through different forms, but there s nothing [I could] do, she said, adding she had already had issues when I first created the page . World s biggest rabbit stolen from Worcestershire garden

Island FM Police believe the Flemish giant rabbit was taken from its enclosure in Stoulton on Saturday night. Named Darius, the rabbit is recognised by Guinness World Records as being the longest alive at 4ft 3in (129cm). Owner Annette Edwards is offering the reward and said the theft of her pet was a very sad day . She said on Twitter that Darius is now too old to breed and pleaded for the thieves to bring him back. A West Mercia Police spokesman said: We are appealing for information following the theft of an award-winning rabbit from its home in Stoulton, Worcestershire.

Road safety to improve through $3 7m CQ road upgrade

Premium Content Subscriber only A Central Queensland road is set to receive a $3.75m upgrade, with work to start in coming months. The Australian Government has put $3m towards the upgrade of Willies Creek Royles Road in Bingegang. Central Highlands Regional Council Mayor Kerry Hayes said improving road access would result in significant social benefits to the local community. “I am excited to see shovels hit the ground on this vital project, because improving access and road connections is a great outcome for the entire community,” Mr Hayes said. “All local road users will soon be reaping the benefits of this project, which is expected to be completed by early 2022.”
