Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Chrissy Weller said 14 photos will be selected to feature in the 2022 calendar, with copies available for free at collection points later in the year. “We were expecting COVID to really impact the entries last year, but to our surprise there were more amazing photos submitted than ever,” Cr Weller said. “In addition to your formal entry, encourage your friends to get behind you by posting your photos on Instagram and Facebook using hashtags #MyCampaspe and #LoveWhereYouLive.” ....
Date Time Native trees available: Campaspe Shire Native seedlings are now available to Campaspe rural landowners for a subsidised cost through Council’s Rural Tree Scheme. General Manager Infrastructure, Jason Deller, said those taking advantage of the scheme can improve their property’s landscape, create habitat for wildlife and introduce wind breaks. “The scheme has approximately 40 indigenous plant species that are well suited to the Campaspe climate and soil types,” Dr Deller said. “The plants available range from ground covers that grow to less than a metre, to trees that will grow more than 30 metres.” “Council, along with local landcare groups, can provide advice on species selection and site preparation.” ....

The region s rate of heart attack hospital admissions is a staggering 17.4 out of every 10,000 people - about 28 per cent higher than the Victorian state average. People in the Shepparton region are hospitalised for coronary heart disease at a rate of 55.9 out of every 10,000 people - roughly 30 per cent above the state average. ....
