LAS CRUCES – A man was transported to the hospital following a police shooting in downtown Las Cruces on Thursday, March 11.
Police report an incident took place at about 9 a.m. near the intersection of Campo Street and East Hadley Avenue, near the United States Postal Service building.
A police officer suffered relatively minor injuries during the incident, police said.
Police did not release the condition of the man who was taken to the hospital.
A news release from LCPD did not state whether the incident involved a shooting, but a person working nearby said she heard a least a dozen shots fired. ....
