Private sector to donate vaccines to gov't if COVAX supplies delayed

Anti-parasitic not a substitute for vaccines says ivermectin advocate
Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Jose Ma. “Joey” Concepcion III said that the private sector would prioritize donating 500,000 AstraZeneca doses to the government if deliveries from the COVAX global facility to the Philippine government are delayed.
The Philippines has already received more than 500,000 AstraZeneca doses from the facility, which were used to inoculate medical frontliners. The second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine should be given four to 12 weeks after the first.
Mr. Concepcion leads the Dose of Hope initiative which helped procure AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines through tripartite agreements with the private sector and local governments. Of the doses bought by businesses, half are to go to their employees first and the second half will be donated to the government. ....

TO HELP ensure the effective administration of Covid-19 vaccines throughout the country, the International Chamber of Commerce Philippines (ICCP), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) are organizing a virtual meeting of experts and policymakers dubbed the Vaccine Summit: Equitable Distribution and Safety set Friday, April 30.
Amb. Francis Chua, founding chairman of ICCP and chairman emeritus of PCCI, said the summit will provide information on the status of the global distribution of the vaccines against Covid-19.
We know how critical this vaccination program is to achieve herd immunity faster and hasten our socioeconomic recovery. This is why we have to make sure the inoculation programs of the government and the private sector will be effective, safe, and equitable, Chua said. ....

Lawmakers to set up 'ivermectin pantry' in QC

SAGIP Party-list Representative Rodante Marcoleta and Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Mike Defensor announced in a joint statement that they will be putting up their own community pantry, but to give out free doses of ivermectin.
“After the inquiries conducted by two committees of the House of Representatives (Health and Good Government and Public Accountability) where both foreign and local experts were engaged on the potential use of Ivermectin, we have decisively come to a critical decision to distribute Ivermectin to those who are in dire need of this drug,” Marcoleta and Defensor disclosed.
The two House members said this combines “both the sense of urgency and our inherent trait of community sharing” during the COVID-19 pandemic. ....
