Government commits money for Carlyle's airport

Carlyle will receive $33,911 for runway slurry seal, to repaint runway lines and numbers, and add ceilometer to the automated weather observing system (AWOS).
As a commercial pilot myself, I know of the benefit these investments will have on some of our more rural and remote communities, Highways Minister Fred Bradshaw said. These revitalization and rehabilitation projects will bring some much needed upgrades to some of our community airports and runways, leading to better usage and reliability for medical, emergency and transportation services to all regions of the province.
Last year, the Government of Saskatchewan more than doubled its funding for the CAP program to $1.5 million, an increase of 114 per cent over the previous year. A portion of the 2021-22 investment, $650,000, comes from the $2 billion stimulus package announced in mid-2020. ....

Moosomin Airport to receive provincial funding

The Moosomin Airport is receiving $275,000 through the province’s Community Airport Partnership (CAP) program.
Administrator for the R.M. of Moosomin Kendra Lawrence says the airport is currently used by a local flying club and some businesses.
“With the new, upgraded runway, we will see the availability to increase health and welfare with air ambulance being able to land in our area.”
Lawrence says this money will be used in a variety of areas for the airport.
“Phase one will be the construction the runway, and then the second phase will be paving that facility,” Lawrence said. “Third would probably be the installation of lighting to facilitate night-landing if necessary.” ....

Prince Albert among communities approved for airport funding - Prince Albert Daily Herald

The Government of Saskatchewan recently announced an investment of $1.5 million in the Community Airport Partnership (CAP) program as part of Budget 2021-22. The funding will provide improvements to 19 community airports around the province. When combined with local matching dollars, CAP represents a $3 million investment in provincial airport infrastructure.
Prince Albert was approved for two application including a runway windsock and end markers and addition of a buried wildlife fence to the airport perimeter fence, which is valued at $106,650.
“As a commercial pilot myself, I know of the benefit these investments will have on some of our more rural and remote communities,” Highways Minister Fred Bradshaw said in a release. ....

Several Local Airports Receiving Provincial Funding to Improve Infrastructure

A few local airports will be able to make various upgrades, after successfully applying for funds through Saskatchewan’s Community Airport Partnership (CAP) program.
The Community Airport Partnership program helps offset the costs of rehabilitation, construction and infrastructure improvements by providing cost-shared grants of up to $275-thousand.
The Saskatchewan government invested about $1.5-million into CAP as part of the 2021 Budget, and when combined with local contributions its an overall investment of $3-million.
Local airports receiving money include:
