Blue Racer plant looking to connect to Monroe County water | News, Sports, Jobs

WOODSFIELD The Blue Racer Midstream Berne Plant is hoping to find funding opportunities for an estimated $750,000 project that would enable its Lewisville plant to connect to the county’s water source.
Larry Couch, safety and emergency response coordinator for Blue Racer Midstream, met with county Commissioners Mick Schumacher, Diane Burkhart and Bill Bolon on Monday to discuss options for the plant to connect to Monroe Water Systems, which provides the water service in the area. Couch said the plant currently runs on its own private wells, but company officials would like to connect to the county’s water system. ....

Health Foundation to give away hams, potatoes
Allegheny-Kiski Health Foundation will distribute free ham and potatoes this month.
The giveaway is limited to the first 100 individuals in need who phone the foundation to register at 724-294-3157 and provide their name, phone number and email address. Registration is limited to one ham and five-pound bag of potatoes per family per phone call. Registrants will be given instructions as to when, where and how the food will be distributed and must arrange for transportation to the distribution site. ....

The food bank at Riverview Community Action Corp in Oakmont serves people in need who live in Oakmont and Verona.

Senior housing on way for downtown Moberly


The old Moberly Junior High building near downtown is getting a new life as senior housing. 
The announced rehabilitation of what will be known as Tannehill Apartments took place Tuesday at Moberly City Hall. 
A formal groundbreaking on the project will happen in the spring. Conversion of the school building into one- and two-bedroom apartments for older adults will take upward of one year, Northeast Community Action Corp. Public Relations Officer Brent Engel said. This means the facility will open sometime in 2022. 
Construction and rehabilitation costs are estimated at $10.1 million. There will be 48 housing units available once completed. 
This is a project that has been in the making for a lot years, Engel said. It s good to see that it is finally being done. ....
